Seed Sales Specialist
Sedona AG, a contract sales organization, has an excellent opportunity with a local and growing company to market agricultural technology products including traited corn and soybean seed to local producers and growers. Candidates must be enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated, and passionate about the benefits these products offer. This position involves on-farm selling, customer service, and implementing technology. Location has an extremely strong and loyal current customer base. At least two years of professional sales experience is required and a BS or BA is preferred. Experience in the crop production industries is preferred. Competitive salary ($50,000 - $65,000) plus bonus opportunities, vehicle, and full benefits package are offered.
We currently have a territory available in Northwest Illinois (Moline, IL / Viola, IL) with key market concentration in Mercer County.
Responsibilities:
Primary
- Primary role is to promote and sell house branded & Monsanto Branded seed.
- Lead all seed related activities. Responsible for ordering, tracking, inventory, seed treatments, and overall promotion of our seed business.
- Perform regular cold calls on potential customers to build customer base
- Provide agronomic service to the customer to enhance your’s and company’s value to the customer by making regular visits assessing their needs and making the proper recommendation to meet those needs
- Follow the credit guidelines set forth by Company’s credit department.
- Represent company in a professional manner and maintain an attitude of confidence in the company, its products, suppliers, and customers.
- Establish cooperative relationships with industry organizations and foster good industry and public relations.
Secondary
- Promote and “assist” in the selling of fertilizer, chemicals and other services provided by the organization.
- Support the branch by assisting with customer service, and inventory count
- Be up to date and involved in the logistics required to order and successfully deliver the product needed by the grower
- Have a knowledge of the computer software program so that you are able to create a delivery ticket, research product movement, proof detail sales, price open orders, and any other computer activity needed to service the customer
- Have an understanding of the warehouse operations so that you can assist as needed in other duties around the branch
- Participate in the company’s safety program
- Adhere to all policies established by the hiring organization.
