CAREER OBJECTIVE
To be the most well connected professional in the agricultural industry, and create an overall awareness of person to person networking importance as a venue to increase productivity, opportunity, success, and happiness.

VALUE
What does Mark Jewell bring to the table? I am a relentless networker. My experiences in life are almost always people-centric, and this has allowed me to practice purposeful networking strategies. Additionally, I am an entrepreneurial minded strategist, always looking for new ways to advance the organizations I am involved with. Self starting with little or no guidance has become second nature to me in my most recent endeavors. More than ten years of training, facilitation, and speaking experience have conditioned me to be comfortable with almost any audience.

They're just NOT that into You!

Seriously - ONLINE PEOPLE SEARCHING - is the new job hunting and candidate sourcing. When someone views your online profile, what do they learn about you? Does your profile cause them to take action and call you or write a message? Are you putting yourself out there and making yourself look good? Does all the content that represents you online simply SCREAM: "You NEED to hire me?"

If not - then you are missing out on the golden opportunity to represent yourself hundreds of times over.

Personal Branding - From Brazen Careerist

This is a guest post from Dan Schawbel. He is 25 years old and already, the New York Times has called him a "personal branding guru." Dan's book is Me 2.0: Build a Powerful Brand to Achieve Career Success, and it just came out today.

Personal branding describes a process where individuals differentiate themselves from a crowd by articulating their unique value proposition whether professional or personal, and then leverage it across platforms with a consistent message to acheive a spe… Continue

Not sure which Ag Career is right for you? Check this link out! It takes you to the National FFA Organization website - and gives you a few options to check. Then, it will provide suggestions to look into. Turns out - I am interested in being an Aerial Applicator (crop duster)!

The Premise of the Promise

You've been hearing about how valuable networking is for your career. We always hear it, and when its top of mind, it is something we all agree we need to do a better job of. However, I am willing to gamble that 90% of us don't always follow through. My hypothesis is that we don't because we tend to think that networking means having to "know" a lot of people...and let's face it, thats kind of scary.

But, thats not necessarily true.

Seriously. The PROMISE is that by having a strong network of… Continue

Mark,
I heard from a good source that there is an animal science position teaching open at Ridgewater College in Willmar. I don't have any details and so I'm relunctant to post anything to the Agjobnetwork without more details. I couldn't find any info on their website either.

Hi Mark, thanks for the comment. You can join if you like, but it's just geared towards women but all are welcome. Basically I've been toying around with the idea of having a networking site for women working in the ag field for a while and just finally put it all together. I've been involved with Ag all my life, worked as an agronomist, salesman and manager before making the transition into ag recruiter and I just see more of a need every day or women in the industry to have a source of asking the questions that for the most part women in the industry face an understand. I think you've been talking to my counterpart Mark Waschek some as well, feel free to give me a all or drop an email if you want to talk more. Perhaps we can help each other out. Rhonda

Most of my placements have been in CA and the west but I hope to broaden my business to include more of the US. This site looks like it might have potential as a springboard towards the east. THANKS!
