The Premise of the Promise

You've been hearing about how valuable networking is for your career. We always hear it, and when its top of mind, it is something we all agree we need to do a better job of. However, I am willing to gamble that 90% of us don't always follow through. My hypothesis is that we don't because we tend to think that networking means having to "know" a lot of people...and let's face it, thats kind of scary.

But, thats not necessarily true.

Seriously. The PROMISE is that by having a strong network of friends, family, and colleagues you will be more successful. BUT with every promise there is a PREMISE. So, what is the premise of this networking promise? Well, to be honest it is what I believe to be the secret to building a great network. If you could learn the secret to building a great network that would help make you successful would you want to know it? My guess is that you would.
